تعاني معظم الدول الغنية بالمنتجات النفطية من المحافظة على توفير الدعم و فرص العمل لمواطنيها. هذا لأن الاعتماد الكلي على مصدر دخل واحد للدولة ليس أمراً مستداماً. يستخدم د. خالد ليبيا كمثال للكيفية التي سيتمكن من خلالها الرياديين من قيادة هذا التغيير، وهي عن طريق الاستثمار في التكنولوجيا الواعدة، مثل: التكنولوجيا الحيوية و البيانات الضخمة و تكنولوجيا النانو وإنترنت الأشياء أو ما يُعرف بالجيل الجديد للأنترنت.
Most rich countries of petroleum products are suffering from the failure to provide and maintain support and job opportunities for its citizens. This is because the total reliance on a single source of income for the state is not a sustainable strategy. Libya is as a case of point and Dr. Khaled in his talk shows how entrepreneurs can take the opportunity to lead the change, which is to invest in promising technology path, such as biotechnology, big data, nano-technology and Internet of things, or what is known as the new generation of the Internet.

Dr. Khaled Elmufti is a technology entrepreneur and founder of number of technology initiatives in Libya and the UK. Khaled is very interested in applying technology to address business challenges in areas such as finance, health care and the environment. Dr. Elmufti holds a PhD from City University in London in electronic engineering and an MSc from Imperial College London in computing science.
