How does the excess use of water to sustain global human activities affect the environment in the long term? In his talk, Amir discusses his observations of environmental change and explores the shocking causes and effects of the anthropogenic drought.

Amir AghaKouchak is an Assistant Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Irvine. His research crosses the boundaries between hydrology, climatology, and remote sensing to address critical global water resource issues. Dr. AghaKouchak is the principal investigator of several research projects funded by NASA, NOAA, and NSF.
