Almost 6 centuries ago, the Portuguese came to India in the hopes of great conquest and control of the Indian spice trade routes. The food of any part of this world, is a reflection of its history, culture and of course geography. It is a mirror to society. In this talk, Aditya Bal tells the story of our heritage through food and its evolution.

A model, a chef and a TV show host Aditya Bal is largely a self taught chef who has varied interests. As a student of English Honors in Delhi University becoming a chef was never an option. Being the nephew of the famous fashion designer Rohit Bal his modeling career was smooth and perfect but one day when he felt nothing was working for him he turned to some recipe book and started cooking in his kitchen, and that was the beginning of his passion towards cooking. That is when he decided to make a shift from a model to chef.
He loves to travel, experiment and is super adventurous. He goes to streets, visits homes and markets to discover and learn old cooking techniques. Popular from his show ‘Chakle India’ where he travels to different countries and eats the finest food to try them later in his kitchen. Often referred as a Celebrity Chef Aditya strongly believes in working hard for the chef part of the title rather than the glamour part.
