Darren was introduced to the TEDxYouth@SanAntonio audience with these words: "'If no one is laughing at your dreams, they’re probably not big enough.' Is a maxim that guides Darren's infectious passion. Darren Garcia is a young philosopher in a world that has mostly forgotten the role of classical education, learning by doing. He captures the world as it is through a video camera and then paints it in a way that makes you think in a way you hadn’t thought before. But Darren is not trying to overcomplicate, his passion is making the seemingly complex simple."
Darren is a high school senior at Boerne High School, a filmmaker, a writer, and an adventure-seeker. And about two years ago, he started an organization called The Do More Project. The Do More Project aims to provide a voice to the voiceless and to help the helpless. It has been Darren's passion since he founded the group along with 4 other part-time members, all juniors and seniors in high school who are trying to make a difference in the community. Outside of the Do More Project, Darren's broader goal to inspire others to "get out there and make the change that no one else is willing to make." He wholeheartedly believes that everyone can do more.
