What if there was a way to address some of the most complex and difficult problems our educators face in a world where knowledge is cheap and for young people the future is an unknowable thing? In her talk, South West Wales-based academic and entrepreneur Lucy Griffiths demonstrates how, by bringing designers into the equation, and connecting them with educators and young people, we can tackle the problems both teachers and learners face, and develop tools and techniques that support them to transform their own learning.
Lucy Griffiths is co-founder of educational publisher and agency We Are Lucky, Editor of the South Wales Business Review, and co-author and illustrator of the Island Friends series of children’s stories. Her career has spanned roles within marketing, the education sector and her own businesses, and has included lecturing posts at the University of Hertfordshire and the University of Wales Trinity Saint David.
Lucy is passionate about enhancing the life chances of young people through education that inspires and motivates them to achieve their own definition of success.
