Two sessions spread across two evenings filled with live talks and performances.

Dr. Eileen Hogan is a lecturer in the School of Applied Social Studies, UCC, and recently completed her PhD about the Cork music scene with the Institute of Popular Music, University of Liverpool. As part of her research, Eileen interviewed 53 local music-makers – including musicians, venue owners, promoters, DJs, and journalists – to explore what motivates them invest so much time, money, and effort into their music-making activities.
In her talk, Dr Hogan presents some of her findings, which speak to the social significance of music-making and its impact on the individual and collective well-being of Cork’s present and future citizens.
