How have the latest cultural achievements in one of the oldest countries in Europe impacted the personal life of a young Georgian woman who has been an independent art entrepreneur since the collapse of communism through the changing times in Georgia.
Founding General Manager of the Georgian International Arts Festival GIFT in Tbilisi in honor of Michael Tumanishvili. Chair of the Georgian-British Culture Platform. Currently collaborates closely with the Edinburgh Assembly Festival and with the International Board of Directors including Théâtre Des Bouffes Du Nord. Paris, “Radialsystem V”. Berlin, Germany, Florence Intercity Festival , Anatoly Vasilev’s “School of Dramatic Art” , Dmitry Krymov Theatre Laboratory etc. Sophie has held a number of prominent positions in the Georgian theatre sector including Head of International Affairs at the Rustaveli National Theatre of Georgia; UK-Caucasus Projects Coordinator at Stichting Caucasus Foundation; Organizer/Performing Arts Coordinator of the Caucasus International Culture Fair ICF; Director of International Relationships at Marjanishvili State Academic Drama Theatre.
