After completing an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Cincinnati and several co-op rotations in the semiconductor industry, Matt seized an opportunity to stay on at UC pursuing his PhD in the rapidly burgeoning field of microfluidics. Working under the direction of Dr. Jason Heikenfeld in the Novel Devices Laboratory, he has published and presented his work in several journals and international scientific conferences. His research is creating a new form of electrofluidic display which would allow for rollable and sun-light readable tablets and smart phones. In thespirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
