Exploring Self-Regulation, Trauma and Creativity. Cheryl Arutt, PsyD, is a clinical and forensic psychologist, specialist in creative artist issues and trauma, and frequent guest on CNN, HLN and other networks. She is also the host of TEDxStudioCityED. This talk explores self-regulation as the basis for mental health, how trauma disrupts this, and ways new technology and discoveries are creating exciting opportunities to teach, learn and treasure what one self-regulation pioneer referred to as "that good feeling of control". In thespirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
