The language that one is raised with can affect the how one perceives the world around them. TEDxERHS speaker Trina Sanyal explores the field of cognitive linguistics and touches upon various linguistic novelties, such as the intricacies of the Kuuk Thaayore language.

Sanyal stresses that by understanding the nuances of constructed language, we will be able to more effectively understand the world around us and establish a globalized community.

Having been raised in a household of multilingualism, Trina Sanyal has been interested in linguistic theory from an early age. Sanyal has used this exposure to a multilingual and diverse society as a source of inspiration to further pursue her studies into linguistics.
