Grant Korgan shows how living life with a glass-half-full mentality, positive spirit and "mad luv" breaks down barriers and inspires the goosebumps of life. After a paralyzing back injury in a 2010 accident bringing the news that he would never walk again, Grant pushed those notions out of his life and ultimately pushed himself to the South Pole (the first adaptive athlete to accomplish this incredible feat). Grant reminds us that regardless of ability or perceived disability, we are all truly UNLIMITED! A nanoscientist and professional athlete, Grant Korgan is the author of Two Feet Back, an autobiography chronicling his injury and road to recovery. His South Pole expedition is also featured in the documentary, The Push: A South Pole Adventure. Grant and his amazing wife Shawna exude the power of positivity! In thespirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
