Samuel Nelson Bernier is a Canadian industrial designer and a prolific Maker. Born and raised in the Quebec country side, he now works in Paris as Creative Director for le FabShop, a renowned design and innovation consulting firm. Bernier is recipient of the Lieutenant Governor's Medal and winner of the Be Open Award. In 2012, he became one of the first artist in residence of the Autodesk group, in San Francisco, where he wrote part of his university thesis : "Project RE_, DIY in Digital Age" which documented his journey in the world of "Makers" and "FabLabs." In August 2013, the British magazine ICON chose the young designer for its "Future 50," list of the world's emerging creators. In 2014, at only 26 years old, he was invited to lead DIY courses at Domus Academy in Milan by his mentor, Patricia Urquiola.
