Fake it till you make it. In the age of social media, sometimes we forget that what we see online does not merely reflect reality. Taylor Trudon, an editor at MTV News, demonstrates the power of social media and why it's ok to fake it online sometimes.
Taylor Trudon is the Voices editor at MTV News, where she launched and oversees the teen and millennial focused contributor platform. In addition to leading various youth initiatives, she frequently writes on teen Internet culture and their representation within media, tech and politics.
Taylor is passionate about community-building, advocating for young voices and using social media as a catalyst for starting conversations. As a 2015 TEDxTeen speaker, she spoke about the power of the written word and how to amplify your story in today’s technology saturated world. She regularly speaks at conferences and industry events, including the It’s Our Turn Conference for young women, New York Social Media Week, SXSW, and VidCon, a multi-genre online video conference that is the largest of its kind.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
