In this evocative talk, Kian Woon points out to the idea killing or dying for a cause. Taking the case of military training a human to kill or prepared to be killed. He answers profound questions like, Are we inherently programmed to be violent? Or do we have a choice? to live and let live!

Kwok Kian-Woon is a sociologist based at the Nanyang Technological University. His teaching, research and writing covers areas such as the following: Social Memory; Mental Health, and Singapore Studies.
